Billboard Korea Launches Hot 100 Chart! Hwasa Takes Historic First #1 with K-Music Global Chart
Billboard Korea officially launched two new charts on December 3rd to track the domestic and international popularity of K-music simultaneously.
The newly introduced charts are the ‘Billboard Korea Hot 100’ and ‘Billboard Korea Global K-Songs.’

Hwasa earned the honor of claiming the historic first #1 position on the ‘Billboard Korea Hot 100’ chart with her new single ‘Good Goodbye.’ (Its currenly BBUU by PLAVE btw)

Additionally, she debuted at #43 on the Billboard Global 200, proving her standing as a solo artist with a Korean-language song without any Western promotion.

The ‘Billboard Korea Hot 100’ tracks the most popular songs in Korea regardless of language, serving as a key indicator for measuring domestic success. Meanwhile, the ‘Billboard Korea Global K-Songs’ chart tracks the popularity of K-music consumed worldwide, including Korea.
These charts represent the first official Billboard-backed system to track and rank global K-music consumption under the Billboard brand, aiming to provide transparent and reliable standards for the K-pop industry.

Silvio Pietroluongo, Senior Vice President of Charts & Data Partnerships at Billboard, emphasized that creating objective standards for the industry is the goal, stating that the new music charts will serve as a “common language” connecting artists and fan communities.
