Seoul Botanic Park: Tickets, Hours & How to Get There (2026)
By reputis.mag on October 20, 2026
Seoul Botanic Park in Magok brings a glasshouse, gardens and lakeside paths into one Seoul outing.
Standard adult admission to the greenhouse and themed gardens is 5,000 KRW, while the Open Forest, Lake Garden and Wetland are free to explore.

For a day with room to wander, you can move from tropical greenery to a collection of tiny seeds, then finish by the water.
This guide covers ticket prices, seasonal opening hours, subway directions and a suggested route to help you choose how much of the park to see.
Seoul Botanic Park tickets and free areas
The paid section includes both the greenhouse and the themed gardens. Standard individual admission is:
| Visitor | Age | Admission |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | 19–64 | 5,000 KRW |
| Youth | 13–18 | 3,000 KRW |
| Child | 6–12 | 2,000 KRW |
Tickets are valid on the day of issue. Admission exemptions and discounts have separate eligibility requirements; check the official admission guide for details.

The Open Forest, Lake Garden and Wetland are the free park areas.
Choose these if an outdoor walk is the main reason for your visit.
Opening hours and Monday closures
The greenhouse and themed gardens follow this seasonal schedule:
| Season | Opening hours | Last entry |
|---|---|---|
| March–October | 09:30–18:00 | 17:00 |
| November–February | 09:30–17:00 | 16:00 |
They close on Mondays. When Monday is a public holiday, the closure moves to the following day. The free park areas are listed as open year-round; check official notices for exceptional closures.
For an autumn visit, the practical change to remember is the earlier November last-entry time.
How to get to Seoul Botanic Park by subway
Address: 161 Magokdong-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
Korean map search: 서울식물원
Magongnaru Station: Take Seoul Subway Line 9 or the AREX airport railroad. Exits 3 and 4 connect to the Open Forest. From there, follow signs through the park to the greenhouse. The station exit is an entrance to the park, so allow time for that onward walk.
Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station: On Line 9, Exit 8 is another option. The park’s official subway directions list a walk of about 10 minutes to the themed garden area.
If you are arriving near last entry, check your walking route to the greenhouse as well as your train arrival time.
What to see at Seoul Botanic Park
The greenhouse and skywalk
The greenhouse presents plant cultures associated with 12 cities in tropical and Mediterranean climate regions. It gives the visit a clear starting point: look at the shapes and scale of the plants, then notice how the displays change between climate zones.
The skywalk offers another perspective on the tropical greenery from above the main paths. It is worth building into your greenhouse visit if you enjoy both plants and architecture.
For an overview of the displays, see the official greenhouse introduction. The Seoul Metropolitan Government’s park introduction also identifies the tropical-zone skywalk.
The Seed Library

The Seed Library is on the first floor of the Botanic Center. Its seed and plant specimens offer a change of scale after the greenhouse: this is a place to look closely at the small details.
It opens Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–17:00, on a separate timetable from the greenhouse. The park also operates a seed-borrowing program, with lending available Tuesday–Sunday except public holidays. If you want to take part, ask the desk about the current procedure and available seeds.
Check the official Seed Library information before planning your visit around this stop.
The Lake Garden and outdoor paths

The Lake Garden has paths around the water and observation decks. It makes a natural final stop if you want an unhurried walk after the indoor displays.
The official Lake Garden guide describes waterfront viewpoints and a pedestrian bridge. Choose a shorter lakeside walk or extend your time into the wider park according to the weather and how much energy you have left.
A simple half-day itinerary
Allow roughly two to three hours for a greenhouse visit, a short stop at the Seed Library and a walk by the lake. This is an editorial planning estimate, rather than an official tour duration.
Arrive at Magongnaru Station and enter through the Open Forest.
Visit the greenhouse first if its admission deadline is the main constraint on your day. Include the skywalk and add time for the themed gardens if you wish.
Stop at the Seed Library during its own opening hours.
Finish at the Lake Garden and leave the length of the walk flexible.
If you prefer a simpler outing, make the free outdoor areas your whole plan. If rain is forecast, focus on the greenhouse and indoor displays while allowing for the outdoor walk from the station.
